The Humble Indie Bundle Experiment

Some independent game companies got together to try and experiment with selling a DRM free, game bundle direct to the public with the need for a middle man. The humble indie bundle is an awesome social experiment in new ways of distributing games and self-regulation. As part of the experiment they allow consumers to pay as much as they want, and in addition to select how the money is to be distributed.

Consumers can select to split the money any way they like between two charities , the Electronic Freedom Foundation and Child's Play, and the developers. In just 7 days they raised over 1 million USD. They are now open-sourcing the games but they have extended the period for people to still sign up and buy. If you can spare the cash please support this project  It will help promote Linux as a gaming platform and support small business at the same time!
